We wanted to preserve the view to the natural greenbelt while creating a focal point visible from the great room of the house. The fire feature accomplishes this beautifully, and by adding the picture frame, we seamlessly connect the architecture with the natural backdrop. The subway tile complements the linear design of the fire feature, while the wall transitions across the deck, replacing a railing for added safety. Stepping down to the fire pit gathering space and the turf with a putting green maximizes the use of the steep hillside lot. Custom stainless scuppers enhance the raised linear look of the fireplace wall, providing a gentle, understated water sound. The spa veneer adds a touch of looseness, preventing the overall design from feeling too modern. Retaining walls were built to create planting spaces and functional level areas for additional gathering spots. Cable railing on top of the walls ensures safety without obstructing the view. This design creates a seamless transition from home to nature, offering a space to be enjoyed every day and night.
