There were several unique challenges but a few that stuck out were the creation of a 360-degree spillover on a body of water that holds a play pool, diving pool, and spa. With half of the project feature a grass edge lautner festure, we were able to create a perfect mirror effect for the stunning sunsets seen from almost every window in the home. One design feature that is unique is the cantilevered fire bar that sits in front of the spa.  The infinity edge water falls between the shell and the feature and at night it looks as if the feature is floating out in the sky.

 

The design phase of this project went on for the better part of a year.  We spent most of our time working on a three-tiered system in which the play pool spilled into the diving pool which spilled into the catch basin. We just couldn’t get the simplicity that we wanted to achieve with this, so we decided to combine all elements into one body of water.  The final pool features what is essentially two pools side by side but sharing the same body. It is not visible unless you are in the pool, but it was a perfect way to blend functionality with aesthetic appeal.
