Sensational Staycation

This unique project consisted of a 20 acre plot of land that the homeowner had tried to purchase for several years.  When I got out to the site, I immediately understood why as it was one of the best views I had ever seen in our area and also even faced the setting sun.  After understanding the client’s needs of a resort style getaway in their backyard that would forever be a spot for their large gatherings and entertaining of both friends and children, the only challenge was going to be the sharp elevation change.  The separated master retreat hot tub looks over the infinity edge pool with a river that is visible from the living area of the home and hidden below site is the kids resort consisting of a rope swing, wooden diving board, and a water slide.  The unique feature of this project is the amphitheater styled turf steps that walk down into the yard that allowed for us to keep the area natural feeling and not have a bunch of concrete, while also allowing for the homeowner to fully utilize their 30’ blow up movie projector that they could place on their putting green for family and friend movie nights.  A funny story is that we had a camera to watch over this project so that we could create a time-lapse of the construction of this project.  Undenounced to us, a very tiny leaf grew from the branch that we placed the camera on so we now have 6 months footage of about a 3” leaf.  Oh well!
