With over twenty feet of elevation change from the home’s back patio to the back of the property this design was going to require multiple levels across the scope of the project. While the pool’s design from the patio level is a clean and sleek geometric shape, it is what falls behind the pool that creates the true “WOW” factor. A dramatic negative edge spillway was created on the backside of the pool with a striking tile veneer run in a vertical pattern that stretches over 35’ in length and over 8’ in drop to the lower basin. The entire structure required piers for support, retaining walls, a grand staircase to access the lower parts of the yard down the side of the pool and includes the pool equipment located in a vault underneath the side covered patio opposite the pool. To complete the project, a secluded fire pit area was added below the pool with walkways and additional stairs to access the lower portion of the yard.
